Are you a retired member, in staff job and looking for an opportunity to reconnect with serving Sappers or sail with some old friends here is an ideal opportunity. Anyone at RD who can get away and bring some sappers too would be welcome

The Racing Secretary Capt Siobhan Price is developing the plan to meet Trojan's racing commitment, as the Army representative, in the Beaufort Cup during the Cork Week Regatta. All Sapper Units are busy and the likelihood of additional short-notice commitments is high meaning that units are unlikely to be able to commit to the delivery or subject to cancellation at short notice. Individuals who are serving Sappers may be available to crew but again might be called away at short notice.

We are asking for the support of retired members and those not serving at Regimental Duty to assist with getting Trojan to Cork. AS ever; "If we have a Plan we have something we can change." The outline dates are:

Gosport - Cork: 19 Jun - 3 Jul

Cork Race Preparation: 3-6 Jul

Cork Week Racing: 6 - 10 Jul

Cork - Gosport: 12 - 20 Jul

The Delivery and Recovery Legs could be split into stages to suit members availability with crew changes at convenient ports on the South Coast. The Club has waived the Charter for fee for delivery and recovery and to pay the mooring fees at Cork. As ever skippers and afterguard will be hardest to find but this is also a great opportunity for gaining experience, building sea miles and night hours. Those with family and friends of the right age might wish to consider a leg as a chance to take them sailing on a racing yacht. Singletons are more than welcome as we can match available skippers and crew to vacancies or to fill short-notice withdrawals.

Once we have some volunteers RC (Regions) will set up a WhatsApp Group so we have an all informed net.

Members are encouraged to include sailing in company with Trojan or join a port visit in their Summer Cruising Plans. RC (Regions) is happy to act as focus for information on Trojan's movements.
