Adventurous Training

992689 orig

The REYC is well placed to help Units plan Adventurous Training expeditions, to give advice on funding necessary qualifications, to run RYA distributed training and to help source qualified skippers and crew.

We maintain a list of qualified skippers and have resident Adventurous Training Instructors who can assist with planning and resourcing expeditions. Additionally the ATIs may, subject to availability, be available to skipper unit expeditions.Regular and Reserve units from around the Royal Engineers take part in Unit, Corps,Army and Joint Services expeditions in the UK and throughout the world. These can be run at local level or individuals can apply to join centrally organised ones.

Recent expeditions have seen crews sail in the Solent and South coast, the Baltic, Western Isles, Channel Islands, Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

Planning guidance and useful links can be found at the 'AT planning page' of this site further advice can be had from offshore@sappersailing.org

For individual sailing courses at JSASTC you should bid via the Defence Gateway and the Online Booking System (OBS). A handy guide to this process is here
