Lymington Meet

The annual Lymington Meet takes place in the Lymington River and Western Solent over a weekend in May. The event is very much a social gathering of Sapper sailors, and members are encouraged to bring family and friends. Yachts and crews gather in Lymington on the Friday evening for racing on the Saturday. There are two friendly races, one starting not before 0945 hours and the other at approximately 1330 hours. The morning race is for REYC yachts only. The afternoon race is against a team of three RLymYC yachts competing in a friendly inter club match for the Carlier Trophy. The first three yachts home in the morning race represent the REYC in the match in the afternoon.

The racing is followed by a reception and supper at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club (RLymYC). Dress is jacket and tie or lady's equivalent.

REYC yachts, Club and members, normally berth on the Dan Bran Pontoon, https://www.lymingtonharbour.co.uk., in order to better generate camaraderie and facilitate interaction between serving and retired members.

Members unable to bring a boat or join the racing are welcome, indeed encouraged, come along for the reception and supper.

The Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions and Ticket Booking are posted on the REYC website in late Feb each year.
